Watch the First Footage of CBS' Stephen King Adaptation 'Under the Dome' (Video)
The big-swing adaptation of Stephen King's book premieres in June.
Two days after presenting a sizzle reel of its summer big swing Under the Dome at WonderCon, CBS has released the first footage of its adaptation of Stephen King's postapocalyptic book.
The summer drama, which bows June 24 on CBS, follows residents in the community of Chester's Mill as they deal with the conditions that ensue when a strange dome mysteriously encapsulates the town. Brian K. Vaughan (Lost, Y: The Last Man) is adapting King's book for Stephen Spielberg's Amblin Television with Neal Baer (A Gifted Man) on board as showrunner.
Dome stars Breaking Bad's Dean Norris and Rachelle Lefevre (A Gifted Man, Off the Map) and will explore what happens to law within the domed community, when resources begin to thin and loved ones are separated, and how those trapped inside respond to extraordinary circumstances.
"It's a super fun pulpy show with great characters," Vaughan told a packed ballroom Saturday night at WonderCon in Anaheim.
Producers compared Dome to ABC's island-set mystery Lost, where EP Jack Bender was a writer and director.
"There are always twists and turns in the unexpected and that's what we're trying to do, too," Baer said Saturday of the series, which he hopes continues for multiple seasons to come.
Pan Am's Mike Vogel, True Blood's Aisha Hinds, Secret Circle's Britt Robertson, CSI: NY's Natalie Martinez, Jolene Purdy, Nicholas Strong, Alex Koch and Colin Ford round out the cast.
Under the Dome premieres June 24 on CBS. Will you watch?
