'Vampire Diaries' Spinoff 'The Originals' Adds Claire Holt
She'll reprise her role as original vampire Rebekah Mikaelson in the back-door pilot from executive producer Julie Plec.
The CW's potential spinoff of The Vampire Diaries has enlisted the services of Claire Holt.
The actress, who plays Rebekah Mikaelson on The CW drama, has been tapped to join the network's pilot The Originals, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The Originals centers on Klaus (Joseph Morgan), who returns to the supernatural melting pot that is the French Quarter of New Orleans, a town he helped build centuries ago, and is reunited with his diabolical former protege Marcel (The Game's Charles Michael Davis).
Holt will reprise her role as original vampire Rebekah, Klaus' half sister. In addition to Morgan and Daniel Gillies' Elijah, Holt joins a cast that includes Phoebe Tonkin, who will reprise her role as werewolf Hayley; Daniella Pineda and Danielle Campbell, who will play witches named Sophie and Davina, respectively; and Sorority Row's Leah Pipes, who will play Camille, a human unaware of the supernatural universe that exists around her.
The planted pilot will air April 25 as an episode of The Vampire Diaries. Showrunner Julie Plec will pen the script for Warner Bros. Television.
Holt, who has been recurring on Vampire Diaries since season three, is repped by CAA, Affirmative and Stone Meyer. Her credits also include an arc on Pretty Little Liars and The N's H20: Just Add Water.
