Barbara Walters' 'Today' Segments in 1962: Fashion Week and Playboy Bunnies (Video)
To honor her retirement, the NBC morning show unearthed clips of Walters' first segment and last goodbye on 'Today.'
As Barbara Walters retires from a career of diverse interviews with presidents, movie stars and many other fascinating people, Today unearthed footage on Friday of the View personality and 20/20 host from when she was part of the NBC show in 1962.
As a writer and producer of stories related to women, she gave her take on Fashion Week by comparing couture French dresses to making an experimental car, and gave viewers an inside look at The Playboy Club when she donned the signature bunny suit for a night.
She served as co-host from 1974 to 1976, triggering a tearful goodbye that resembled her farewell to The View on Friday. "I love you all," Walters told viewers. "I will miss you all."
