South Korean World Cup Announcer Collects Views for Goal Call (Video)
As the World Cup matches are drawing record ratings worldwide, one South Korean sportscaster is gaining popularity for his spirited — and long-winded — coverage.
During Monday's Germany-Portugal game (which began at 1 a.m. local time), sportscaster Jeong Woo-young, who works for national network SBS, tried his shot at a Latin American-style goal announcement, according to The Wall Street Journal.
Audio of his shout, which followed a goal by German forward Thomas Muller, has been laid over footage of a South American broadcaster and a Simpsons episode in a YouTube video that has collected over 12,000 views since being uploaded on Wednesday.
