'The Voice' to Have Strong Social Media Component
“Attack of the Show” host Alison Haislip will be the new backstage online and social media correspondent for the NBC musical competition series.
NBC has announced that its upcoming musical competition series, The Voice, will have a strong online and social media component, tapping G4’s Attack of the Show host Alison Haislip as its backstage correspondent.
"Alison's revolutionary role will give front row access to fans and bring them face-to-face with our contestants and coaches," said Paul Telegdy, evp of alternative programming at NBC and Universal Media Studios. "We want our artists to be ambassadors for themselves and the show and Alison is the ideal person to lead the charge online and bring fans an unprecedented and ongoing interactive experience."
The show will provide viewers with access to the competitors through the NBC.com website and social media. The show will feature a “V-Room,” where artists will speak with Haislip after their performances and talk to fans through social media.
Additionally, the musician coaches Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will be using real-time interaction and viewer feedback in their decision-making as they manage their teams.
The Voice would mark the first time NBC has allowed contestants on any of their competition series to engage with the viewers while on the show. Competitors on America’s Got Talent cannot engage with viewers while competing.
Haislip will continue to host Attack of the Show.
The Voice premieres Tuesday, April 26 at 9 p.m. on NBC.
