In a new promo for Season 2, Lori wonders why anyone would want to live in a world filled with the undead.

Hope survives. Faith is tested. These are some of the themes that will be explored when Season 2 of AMC’s zombie drama The Walking Dead returns next month for its second season.

In a new clip exclusive to The Hollywood Reporter, Lori (Sarah Wayne Callies) mulls why anyone would want to live in a world where “death is life.”

Meanwhile, the group’s seemingly fearless leader Rick (Andrew Lincoln) reassures his wife that “there’s still a life for us, we have to still be strong enough to believe that.”

Season 2, premiering Sunday, Oct. 16 at 9 p.m., will see Rick, Lori and company head for new ground in the wake of the CDC explosion at the end of the series’ freshman run.
