The Walking Dead fan favorite Emily Kinney has booked her follow-up series regular role.

The actress, who played Beth Greene on the AMC zombie drama, has been tapped to co-star in ABC drama pilot Conviction.

Conviction tells the story of Carter Morrison (Agent Carter's Hayley Atwell), the brilliant but ne'er-do-well daughter of a former president who is blackmailed into taking a job as the head of Los Angeles' newly created Conviction Integrity Unit. She, along with her team of lawyers, investigators and forensic experts, work together to examine cases where there's credible suspicion that the wrong person may have been convicted of a crime.

Kinney will portray Tess Thompson, the paralegal for the unit team who is bright but comes across as a bit naive, who also displays hints of an underlying sadness. Tess used to work for the Innocence Project but decided to work for CIU because she thinks she can make a bigger impact working more cases from inside the system. She is a true believer in the cause of wrongful convictions ... for reasons that she keeps secret.

She joins a cast that also includes The Following grad Shawn Ashmore.
Jessica Jones' Liz Friedman and Liz Friedlander (The Following) penned the script, with the latter set to direct. Both exec produce alongside the Mark Gordon Co.'s Gordon and Nicholas Pepper.

For singer-actress Kinney, the role marks her first series regular gig after her multiple-season run on Robert Kirkman's zombie drama. Since being killed off of the series, Kinney has had guest roles on Masters of Sex and The Flash. She's repped by Paradigm and Anonymous Content.
