WE tv is really committing to mining more content from its reality series. The same year it announced episode commentary and digital efforts to bridge seasons of its unscripted players, the network is now introducing a second-screen application for viewers to see other angles of episodes in real time.

Dubbed "WE-D" — get it? — the effort starts with the Oct. 9 episode of Braxton Family Values and will allow viewers using mobile devices during the episode to see alternative views of the content with 360-degree camera technology. This pilot run, a first of its kind for a TV network, will feature a concert from castmember Tamar Braxton.

"The concept and popularity of social media is built on the fundamental human need for connection and companionship, and we've tapped into that sentiment in rebranding WE tv," said network president Marc Juris. "Allowing viewers to actively engage with our content through new technology provides a unique and exciting new perspective, driving deeper engagement with our characters and shows."

Following the episode, viewers who used the newly redesigned mobile app to watch will be asked to submit feedback — after which WE will identify other series to offer the experience, which was developed in conjunction with Deluxe Entertainment Services Group, moving forward.

WE tv launched its rebrand in September.
