BBC America Brings Dramas 'White Heat' and 'Inside Men' to the U.S.
The series will make their American premieres on the cable network.
BBC America is importing two new drama series to the U.S.
White Heat will premiere at 10 p.m. May 9, and Inside Men bows at 10 p.m. June 9. Both will air as part of the cable channel's Dramaville programming block.
The miniseries White Heat follows the lives of seven students and friends from 1965 to the present. It stars Sam Claflin (Snow White and the Huntsman), Claire Foy (Upstairs Downstairs), MyAnna Buring (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn), Reece Ritchie (Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time), Lee Ingleby (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban), David Gyasi (Law and Order: UK) and Jessica Gunning (Law & Order: UK).
White Heat is written and created by executive producer Paula Milne with Kate Bartlett for ITV Studios; Lucy Richer executive produces for the BBC.
Inside Men follows three security company employees who go through with a plan for a multimillion-dollar heist. The series is told entirely from their perspectives as they examine what they’ve done, what they’ve risked and the moral lines they’ve crossed. It stars Steven Mackintosh (Luther), Ashley Walters (Outcasts) and Warren Brown (Luther).
Tony Basgallop wrote the four-part series, with Hilary Salmon exec producing for BBC.
The pickups follow recent announcements that BBC America will be co-producing the original series Ripper and period drama Copper. Also, The Misfits producers are developing series Wired and The Dead Beat in a development deal with the cable network.
