'X Factor': Ryan Seacrest Asks to Guest Host, Simon Cowell Wants Demi Lovato Back
With L.A. Reid and Britney Spears exiting their judges posts, Cowell says “we’d be crazy” not to have the teen pop star return.
Amid a judges overhaul, Demi Lovato could be returning to The X Factor, with executive producer Simon Cowell admitting that “we’d be crazy not to have her back.”

In an interview with his former American Idol cohort Ryan Seacrest, Cowell said that “I liked having Demi on the show” and that “she’s fun to work with.” But, of course, “nothing is official.”
Season three of X Factor quickly is approaching, with the first round of auditions kicking off March 6 in Los Angeles. So far, replacements have not been named for exiting judges L.A. Reid and Britney Spears, nor have co-hosts Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian been confirmed to return.
“We’re talking to people all the time, and hopefully within a couple of weeks we might announce the first two,” said Cowell of the judges panel.

And while Seacrest is committed to Idol for at least one more season after its current cycle wraps, he is hoping for an onscreen reunion with the Brit that hired him for Idol’s 2002 U.S. debut.
“Would you allow me to guest-host one live X Factor?” he proposed to Cowell, confessing that he misses their banter.
“Yes,” was Cowell’s immediate reply, though there was a disagreement over whether Seacrest would shill for Coca-Cola (American Idol’s sponsor) or Pepsi (X Factor’s sponsor) during the stint.
