'X Factor' Host Mario Lopez Sets Air Date for His TLC Wedding Special
Just as co-host Khloe Kardashian did in 2009 on E!, Lopez and Courtney Mazza will tie the knot as part of a two-hour special Dec. 8.
Mario Lopez and Khloe Kardashian have more in common than a host gig on Simon Cowell's The X Factor. The pair can also lay claim to tying the knot on national television.
Like Kardashian did three years earlier with NBA star Lamar Odom on E!, Lopez is set to televise his nuptuals with Courtney Mazza in a two-hour wedding event set to air Dec. 8. The special will feature the planning process as well as the fete with family and friends. The Discovery-owned cable channel can only hope the Lopez-Mazza event draws in the kind of crowd -- 3.2 million to be precise -- that the Odom-Kardhashian bash lured in November 2009.
STORY: It's Official: 'X Factor' Names Khloe Kardashian, Mario Lopez Co-Hosts
"Courtney and I already feel incredibly blessed to have found each other, and thank God for our beautiful daughter Gia. Our family is looking forward to celebrating our wedding later this year, and know that TLC is the perfect partner to help us share our love and our special day with the rest of the world," notes Lopez, who counts Extra host among his many additional gigs.
In recent years, TLC has become a destination for wedding-related fare, much as E! has become one for Kardashian content. Earlier this summer, Nick [Lachey] & Vanessa's Dream Wedding special joined a TLC schedule that includes Say Yes to the Dress, I Found The Gown and Four Weddings.
News of an air date comes less than 24 hours after Fox confirmed Lopez would be joining Cowell's fall singing competition. He and Kardashian will begin appearing alongside freshman entries Britney Spears and Demi Lovato when X returns to its live format in November.
