Zac Efron Reveals How Tom Cruise Taught Him to Ride Motorcycle (Video)
The "New Year's Eve" star appeared on "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" to promote his upcoming romantic comedy.

In New Year’s Eve, the upcoming romantic comedy from director Garry Marshall, Zac Efron plays a bike messenger who is trying to have an epic last night of the year. To do so, he decides to help a meek office worker (Michelle Pfeiffer) complete her list of New Year’s resolutions before the end of the day so he can get her tickets to a raging end of the year party.
Efron can be seen zipping around New York on a Vespa in the film. It turns out that Efron knows how to ride a motorcycle thanks to another very famous male actor – Tom Cruise.

Efron appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, and talked about how the Mission: Impossible star ended up teaching him how to ride a bike.
“We were at a party and he says, ‘Hey man, do you ride motorcycles?’” said Efron. Efron said he told Cruise he did not and then Cruise invited him over to learn.

“I hung out with Tom the next day and he literally sat there for two hours and showed me how to ride a motorcycle. It’s just a testament to the kind of guy he is,” said Efron.
Efron also talked to Fallon about New Year’s Eve. The Warner Bros. film features a star-studded cast including Lea Michele, Ashton Kutcher, Hilary Swank, Sarah Jessica Parker, Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl. It opens in theaters on Friday, Dec. 9.
