'Zach Stone' Creator Sells Family Comedy to CBS (Exclusive)
Dan Lagana will team with Eric and Kim Tannenbaum for the untitled comedy.
Five months after MTV canceled Zach Stone Is Gonna Be Famous, the show's co-creator is back in business -- with CBS.
The network has picked up a script for an untitled comedy from Dan Lagana, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
The project centers on a newly married couple who navigates the changes in their relationship and the chaos in their household as they raise a toddler and a teenager at the same time.
Lagana will pen the script and executive produce the CBS Television Studios entry alongside Eric and Kim Tannenbaum.
The comedy comes after MTV canceled Zach Stone after one season in June. Lagana, a former PA on Malcolm in the Middle, co-created the series with star Bo Burnham and served as its showrunner. Repped by CAA and Karl Austen, Lagana's credits also include animated comedy Good Vibes, which was canceled after one season in 2012.
For the Tannenbaums (Two and a Half Men), the Lagana comedy marks their latest sale this development season. The duo also has remakes of Love, American Style and Charmed in the works at CBS, among others, via their CBS Television Studios-based production company, The Tannenbaum Co. They're repped by CAA.
