Zachary Levi is stepping up his Comic-Con game.

The Chuck grad and regular attendee has been tapped to host Syfy's Live From Comic Con talk show, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Returning for the second year, the three-night event will be broadcast live from the San Diego comic book convention Thursday, July 20, through Saturday, July 22. Levi replaces Will Arnett as host, and he will also executive produce along with his producing partner David Coleman through his Middle Man Productions Banner. Live From Comic-Con hails from Wilshire Studios.

“We are excited to be back in business with Zac as we prepare for this year’s Live From Comic-Con,” Syfy's senior vp alternative development and production Heather Olander said Saturday in a statement. “Not only is he an immensely talented multi-hyphenate, but he’s a true fan himself and a Con favorite. With Zac as our host, we are guaranteed to bring a fan-first perspective to our coverage, providing an all-access inside look at breaking news, celebrity interviews and the on-the-ground interactions that make San Diego Comic-Con the premiere genre event!”

The role brings Levi back to the NBCUniversal cable network, where he previously hosted Geeks Who Drink, the game show based on the pub trivia game of the same name. In addition to his five-season run on cult favorite Chuck, Levi's other credits include Thor 2 and NBC's Heroes Reborn.

Levi has become a regular on the Comic-Con scene, thanks in part to his Nerd HQ venture. Along with Coleman, the offsite event had been held annually at Comic-Con since 2011 and was known for hosting dance parties as well as Conversations for a Cause with celebrities with proceeds going to charity. However, Levi announced on Friday that they would not be able to host Nerd HQ at this year's Con.

"I am beyond thrilled to be collaborating with Syfy during such a powerful year for their network.” said Levi. “As always, we are hard at work trying to bring the fans the most entertaining experience and content possible. My hope is that this year in San Diego will be one of the most memorable ever.”

Levi was also a guest on last year's Live From Comic-Con shows. Other guests included the casts of Star Trek Beyond and Mr. Robot and Walking Dead stars Norman Reedus and Steven Yeun, among many others.

The return of Live From Comic-Con follows Syfy's recent brand refresh timed to its 25th anniversary. Along with unveiling a new logo, the network is set to double down on scripted sci-fi programming with series orders for the Superman prequel Krypton and Happy!, based on the Grant Morrison graphic novel.
