10 wrestlers in the WWE suspended
EmptySports entertainment powerhouse World Wrestling Entertainment has suspended 10 wrestlers who it said violated the WWE's wellness policy. Under the policy, performers are tested for such things as illegal substances and heart stress.
The company Thursday didn't identify the names of the suspended talent or the nature of the violations. But WWE said the suspensions were based on information received from the Albany County, N.Y., district attorney's office, which is investigating illegal steroid sales in the wake of the recent tragedy surrounding former WWE star Chris Benoit.
Police say Benoit killed his wife and son before hanging himself. Investigators found a steroid and other drugs in his system. Starting Nov. 1, WWE said it will make public names of suspended wrestlers.
