'12 Years a Slave,' 'August: Osage County' Head to San Diego Film Festival

 

The San Diego Film Festival on Wednesday unveiled its complete slate of films, including Steve McQueen's 12 Years a Slave as its opener and John Wells' August: Osage County as its closer.

The fest runs from Oct. 2-6.

Judd Apatow will receive the Visionary Filmmaker Award at this year's Tribute Gala on Oct. 3. Mariel Hemingway, whose Running From Crazy makes its West Coast premiere at SDFF, will receive the fest's Humanitarian Award on Oct. 5 in partnership with Sharp Mesa Vista Hospital.

The festival features more than 100 screenings in eight categories: features, documentaries, Native American, music, sports, fashion, world issues and film shorts. See the complete lineup below.
