'20th Century Women' Trailer: Annette Bening Shares Comical Wisdom About Life
"Having your heart broken is a tremendous way to learn about the world."
A24 and Annapurna Pictures released a teaser trailer for 20th Century Women, which previews Annette Bening's comical wisdom.
For example, when asked if she's happy, she laughs, "Seriously? Look, wondering if you're happy, it's a great shortcut to just being depressed."
Directed by Mike Mills, the coming-of-age tale takes place in Santa Barbara in the late 1970s and centers on three women who teach a young boy (Lucas Jade Zumann) about girls, life and love. Greta Gerwig, Elle Fanning and Billy Crudup also star in the film, which will make its world premiere as the centerpiece title of the upcoming New York Film Festival.
20th Century Women hits limited theaters Dec. 25 before expanding wide Jan. 20.
