'24' Star Kiefer Sutherland to Get Career Tribute at Whistler Film Festival
The festival will also honor Robert Carlyle as he brings 'The Legend of Barney Thomson' for a North American premiere.
24 star Kiefer Sutherland and the UK's Robert Carlyle are to be honored at the Whistler Film Festival next month as they screen their latest movies.
The West Coast festival, which draws Hollywood stars each year, will give Sutherland its 2015 Trailblazing in Acting Award on Dec. 4, while also screening his latest movie, Forsaken. Kiefer's father, Donald Sutherland, also stars in the film.
And Jon Cassar, who worked with Kiefer Sutherland on the TV series 24, directs Forsaken. Kiefer's half-brother Rossif Sutherland will also be in Whistler to screen his Laos-set movie River.
Carlyle will receive Whistler's 2015 Maverick Award on Dec. 5, while also bringing his feature directorial debut, The Legend of Barney Thomson, for a North American premiere after the movie bowed in Edinburgh.
The Whistler Film Festival is set to run from Dec. 2 to 6.
