4 execs hired at Lakeshore int'l
EmptyJonathan Deckter is joining Lakeshore Entertainment as senior vp international sales, and Elisabeth Costa de Beauregard Rose has been promoted, also taking the title of senior vp international sales. Both execs will report to David Dinerstein, who joined Lakeshore as president of worldwide marketing and distribution in January.
Lakeshore chairman and CEO Tom Rosenberg and Dinerstein announced the moves Monday as part of a restructuring of the company's international sales and distribution division.
In addition, longtime Lakeshore marketing executive Robert Burke has been promoted to executive vp worldwide marketing, and Virginia Longmuir has been promoted to executive vp international business and legal affairs.
Deckter was president of sales and distribution at Arclight Films International and before that vp at Morgan Creek International. Costa de Beauregard Rose has been with Lakeshore for eight years and as part of her promotion will now oversee additional territories. They will be responsible for worldwide sales on Lakeshore's production slate, its acquisitions and its library of more than 600 titles.
Burke will continue to plan creative campaigns, working closely with international distributors. In addition, he also will work with Dinerstein on the domestic U.S. marketing campaigns for Lakeshore titles. Lakeshore has domestic output agreements with Warner Bros. Pictures and MGM and has recently distributed its features through Sony Pictures' Screen Gems unit and Lionsgate.
Longmuir will continue to negotiate and execute international distribution agreements while taking on additional operational and administrative duties.
Said Rosenberg, "With eight features currently in various stages of production, 2007 is our most prolific year to date, and we have an incredibly strong sales and marketing team under David going into Cannes 2007."
Added Dinerstein: "We are delighted that Jonathan, one of the industry's top international films sales executives, has joined Lakeshore. His global relationships are first class, and with Elizabeth's international experience and proven talents and Virginia's vision and business acumen, we have an outstanding distribution team. With our current production slate and distribution agreements and the increase of day-and-date releases, the importance of worldwide marketing has never been more vital, and Rob Burke's industry experience and creative talents are integral to the continued global success of Lakeshore titles."
Lakeshore has two new titles going into production this month that it will introduce to buyers at the Cannes market: the untitled feature based on Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Philip Roth's novel "Dying Animal," starring Penelope Cruz, Ben Kingsley, Patricia Clarkson, Peter Sarsgaard, Dennis Hopper and Deborah Harry and directed by Isabel Coixet, and "Pathology," starring Milo Ventimiglia, Lauren Lee Smith, Alyssa Milano and Johnny Whitworth and directed by Marc Schoelermann.
Other Lakeshore titles in the production pipeline include "Feast of Love," "Untraceable" and "Midnight Meat Train."
