42West is new business address for Par's Ciccone

As the chairs continue to shuffle at Paramount Pictures, publicity veteran Susan Ciccone is joining New York-based 42West as head of its West Coast film marketing division, 42West partners Amanda Lundberg, Allan Mayer, Leslee Dart, Cynthia Swartz and Robert Garlock said Wednesday.

Ciccone will leave her post as vp publicity at Paramount in mid-April after eight years at the studio. She follows outgoing PR chief Nancy Kirkpatrick out the door. Ciccone then will set up shop at 42West's Century City offices, where she will supervise their local film staff of six, including account executives Rene Ridinger, Anna Lee Paulo, Irena Vaysman and Lauren Robinson. Also based in Los Angeles, Mayer runs the firm's strategic communications division. Ciccone is charged with growing the Los Angeles film operation, Swarz said.

One reason for joining 42West, Ciccone was, was how swiftly the PR firm has made its mark: "It's amazing how much they have been able to do in such a short span of time, and I look forward to joining the team and helping the company continue to grow."

Ciccone managed publicity campaigns for such Paramount films as "School of Rock," "Vanilla Sky," "Blades of Glory," "The Hours," "What Women Want," "Charlotte's Web," "Flags of Our Fathers," "Nacho Libre," "Coach Carter," "Failure to Launch," "How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days" and "The Italian Job."

During her previous 10-year stint in the New York and Los Angeles publicity departments at 20th Century Fox, she executed campaigns for "Miller's Crossing," "Barton Fink," "Edward Scissorhands," "Sleeping With the Enemy," "My Cousin Vinny" and "Speed." Ciccone launched her PR career at the New York offices of Rogers and Cowan, where she first teamed with Dart on talent and film accounts.

The 42West partners said that Ciccone's "experience and stellar reputation are a perfect fit."
