42West taps Aberly, Berger

NEW YORK -- PR firm 42West is shoring up its staff on the East and West coasts with the hiring of senior publicist Rachel Aberly in its Los Angeles office and Liz Berger in its New York office.

Beginning Monday, Aberly will serve as a film and filmmaker publicity executive, reporting to West Coast film chief Susan Ciccone. She arrives after serving as a senior marketing and publicity executive at Participant Prods., working on campaigns for "Good Night, and Good Luck," "Syriana" and "An Inconvenient Truth."

Beginning Nov. 5, Berger will serve as a senior film marketing executive, reporting to film division partners Cynthia Swartz, Amanda Lundberg and Leslee Dart. She comes from the Weinstein Co., where she was senior vp publicity and spearheaded campaigns for such films as "Hoodwinked," "Bobby," "Clerks II" and "The Nanny Diaries."

Aberly has worked as a unit publicist on "Leatherheads," "Charlie Wilson's War" and other films since 1993. She also consulted with Sony Pictures and Miramax and worked at such companies as PMK Public Relations, MGM and TriStar Pictures.

From 1999-2005, Berger was vp publicity at Miramax Films, running campaigns on such films as "Finding Neverland," "Chocolat" and "The Cider House Rules."
