"8x45" equals 13th for NBC Uni
EmptyCOLOGNE, Germany -- NBC Universal has grabbed German rights to Austrian mystery series "8x45" for its pay TV channel 13th Street.
The production, from Austrian pubcaster ORF, is an Alpine take on "The Twilight Zone," with self-contained episodes featuring stories of demonic possession and the afterlife. The series has received multiple awards, including the Grand Award and Gold Medal for best entertainment program at the 2007 New York Television Festival.
"8x45" will be the first German-language series to air on 13th Street, which features mainly U.S. programming -- from "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "Law & Order" to feature films in the horror and mystery genres.
