A+E Networks' FYI Channel Hires New Chief
Paul Greenberg, formerly of both Nylon and CollegeHumor, will serve as executive vp and general manager at the lifestyle network.
FYI has found a new leader.
A+E Networks has hired Paul Greenberg as executive vp and general manager at the lifestyle network. In the role, he will be based in New York and will oversee programming development, production and marketing. The news comes some four months after former chief Jana Bennett moved from FYI to heavier-watched sibling network History.
“Paul has his finger on the pulse of the dynamic lifestyle world," A+E Networks CEO Nancy Dubuc said Wednesday in a statement announcing the news." Coupled with his rich background in media and technology, I know he will lead the team to take FYI to the next level in both the linear and digital realms.”
Greenberg most recently served as the CEO of fashion, music and pop culture-focused Nylon, where he grew its digital audience from 200k monthly uniques to 4.2 million in his first year. Prior to that, he was CEO of IAC’s CollegeHumor and then president of publicly traded global dance music company SFK. Greenberg also did stints at the Time Inc. Lifestyle Group, TV Guide Digital and MTV.com. He is now involved in the New York start-up community, too, and has served as a mentor for both TechStars and First Growth Venture Network.
Greenberg joins FYI a year and a half into its run. To date, the network formerly known as Bio has posted significant growth, thanks to hits Married at First Sight and Married at First Sight: The First Year as well as Tiny House Nation and Arranged. When the network first launched, Bennett described it as an "inspiration engine" for a core audience of upscale women in their early 40s.
