A. Smith & Co. Promotes Frank Sinton to COO (Exclusive)
The reality powerhouse behind “Hell’s Kitchen” and Oxygen’s upcoming Paris Hilton project promotes from within.
A. Smith & Co. Productions has promoted its long-time executive Frank Sinton to chief operating officer.
In his new role at the reality TV company, Sinton will oversee internal operations as well as the development of the company’s production slate. He also will continue his spearhead A. Smith & Co Properties, a division primarily focused on feeding cable pipelines, and will report to co-founders Arthur Smith and Kent Weed.
“As our company continues to develop more highly rated television content for the global television marketplace, it has become more important than ever to have one of the very best in the business coordinating and managing our staff and production units,” said Smith and Weed in a joint statement.
Sinton, who joined the company in 2006, added, “We have a phenomenal team of people here and great momentum which makes me incredibly excited about our future.”
Among his productions currently on the air: TVOne’s Unsung and Spike’s UFC Countdown. He also serves as an executive producer on truTV’s Full Throttle Saloon and Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura.
Sinton’s other TV credits include BET’s award-winning docu-series American Gangster, TLC’s Trading Spaces and Travel Channel’s America’s Worst Driver as well as previous sports programming such as Sports Unfiltered with Dennis Miller and the Emmy-nominated docu-series Fearless. He first met and worked for Smith at Fox Sport Network, where he served as vp of programming earlier in his career.
