A&E has renewed its ghost-hunting series "Paranormal State" for a fifth season.

The reality show will return during the fourth quarter after the network ordered more 20 episodes. The series follows Ryan Buell and his Paranormal Research Society as they set out on investigating cases nationwide.

A&E plans to announce the pickup Wednesday in New York as part of its upfront presentation to advertisers. "Paranormal" is produced by Go Go Luckey and Four Seasons Prods./Picture Shack Entertainment.
