Aaron Paul to Co-Star in Miramax's Supernatural Thriller '9th Life of Louis Drax'
The three-time Emmy winner will star opposite 'Fifty Shades of Grey' actor Jamie Dornan
Aaron Paul has signed on to star alongside Fifty Shades of Grey's Jamie Dornan in Miramax's supernatural thriller The 9th Life of Louis Drax.
The three-time Emmy-winning star of Breaking Bad will play the titular character's father, who becomes the target of a criminal investigation when his son suffers a near-fatal accident.
Based on Liz Jensen's best-selling novel of the same name, the story kicks off on Louis Drax's 9th birthday, when a lifetime of curious mishaps culminates in the boy's near-fatal fall. Desperate to reveal the strange circumstances behind the accident, Dr. Allan Pascal (Dornan) is drawn into a thrilling mystery that tests the boundaries of fantasy and reality.
Alexandre Aja is directing from a screenplay by Max Minghella.
Paul, who recently starred in DreamWorks' Need for Speed, will next appear in Open Road's Triple Nine.
AntColony Films and Brightlight Pictures are producing Louis Drax, which marks Miramax's first film production in years. Principal photography is scheduled to begin next month in Vancouver.
Tim Bricknell, Minghella, Shawn Williamson and Aja are producing. Rosanne Korenberg is executive producing. Zanne Devine is overseeing the project for Miramax.
Brightlight Pictures will handle distribution of the film in Canada, and Miramax will distribute throughout the rest of the world, with Sierra/Affinity as the international sales agent.
Paul is repped by UTA and Leverage Management.
