ABC Australia Series Signs Canadian Sales Rep Globally
Canada's Entertainment One will distribute "The Broken Shore," a TV adaptation of a crime novel from Ian Collie's Essential Media and Entertainment.
TORONTO – Entertainment One has snagged the global distribution rights to ABC Australia’s TV adaptation of the crime novel The Broken Shore.
The deal will see the Canadian distributor market in all media the ABC mini-series from Essential Media and Entertainment, which is based on Peter Temple’s novel of the same name.
The TV adaptation follows detective Joe Cashin rebuilding his life in a sleepy hamlet after a traumatic police incident in Melbourne.
The Entertainment One TV distribution deal, its first in Australia, follows the Canadian company buying into local distributor Hopscotch.
“The Essential team has long admired the quality work from Hopscotch/eOne and we’re delighted to have them on board as we continue to build on our relationship,” Essential producer Ian Collie said Thursday in a statement.
