ABC News taking Election Night to streets

Times Square telecast will play for audience below

NASHVILLE -- ABC News is making big plans for Election Night on Nov. 4.

The network will have the same team of "World News" anchor Charles Gibson, "Good Morning America" anchor Diane Sawyer and "This Week" host George Stephanopoulos deployed for the coverage. But instead of ABC News' headquarters on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, the telecast will originate from the network's Times Square Studios above the famed Manhattan landmark.

It not only will be an event on air for millions of American viewers, but it'll also play to the audience below. The coverage will extend outside with numbers and winners being displayed on the JumboTron, ABC News president David Westin said Wednesday afternoon.
