'Abel' to open San Seb sidebar

The Horizontes Latinos section features 11 titles

LONDON -- Diego Luna's "Abel" will open the Horizontes Latinos sidebar during this year's San Sebastian Film Festival in September this year.

"Abel," produced by and starring Luna, is in the 11-strong title mix to score the Horizontes Award and its purse of €35,000 ($46,000) and unspooled earlier this year during Sundance.

The Horizontes Latinos section aims to showcase a selection of "interesting and innovating" Latin American films made over the last twelve months.

This year's section includes titles from Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Costa Rica, Uruguay and Peru.

Other movies in the mix include Berlinale entry "Por tu culpa," "La mirada invisible," which featured in this year's Director's Fortnight in Cannes and "Post Mortem," already booked for the Venice Film Festival later this year.
