Abigail Disney, Irena Medavoy Honored at Women's Image Awards
"This is an honorable heritage to come from, and it can feel like a weight, but it's [the] kind of weight to work, achieve and do more," Disney said at the event.
Phyllis Stuart, founder and president of the Women's Image Awards, had a goal in 1993 to honor and expand the role of women in media. On Wednesday night, her vision was celebrated at the 17th annual WIN Awards, which honored Abigail Disney and Irena Medavoy.
"There isn’t a place I go on Earth where [my name] isn’t important to people and where it doesn’t bring a smile to people’s faces," said Disney. "I prefer to live up to something than to live something down. This is an honorable heritage to come from, and it can feel like a weight, but it’s [the] kind of weight to work, achieve and do more."
