The Oscar organization will conduct 16 investigations to decide what merits further consideration.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has selected 21 scientific and technical achievements for awards consideration. Of those 21 achievements, several have been submitted by more than one company, so the Academy will now conduct 16 separate investigations to decide which merit further investigations.

The Academy is making a list of the achievements it is looking at public to allow individuals and companies with similar devices or claims of prior art the opportunity to submit their achievements for review. Additional entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PT on Aug. 26.
