Actress Mikki Jamison Dies at 70
Mikki Jamison, a starlet in the 1960s who played Kent McCord's wife on the NBC cop show Adam-12, died June 15 in her hometown of Spokane, Wash. She was 70.
Early in her career, Jamison appeared as a girl-next-door type on such TV series as Ripcord, Hawaiian Eye, Maverick, The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis, The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet (she reportedly dated Ricky Nelson), The Donna Reed Show, 77 Sunset Strip, Dennis the Menace, Hazel and My Favorite Martian.
The dark-haired beauty also played Veronica in an unsold 1964 Screen Gems TV pilot for a live-action version of The Archies comic book.
Jamison appeared as Jean Reed, the frustrated wife of young Los Angeles police officer Jim Reed (McCord), in three episodes of Adam-12, which aired for seven seasons. She left the series after marrying a stockbroker and moving to Paris.
Jamison attended Lewis & Clark High School in Spokane and then headed to Los Angeles, where she took up residence in the Hollywood Studio Club, a dormitory for young actresses. She found work at the Pasadena Playhouse and in 1962 was signed to an option by Warner Bros. and named the studio's Hollywood Deb Star that year.
Jamison later starred in a pair of 1965 films for American International Pictures -- Beach Ball and, as a ski bunny, in Ski Party opposite Frankie Avalon.
She returned to acting in the '70s with a role on TV's Wonder Woman and as a photojournalist who goes on a sailboat trip around the world in The Sea Gypsies (1978), her last acting job.
Survivors include her mother, Milaine, husband John, sister Molly, son Jaimie and grandchildren Cameron, Dylan, Mason and Ethan.
