Adam Kanter, Martin Spencer Join Paradigm
Adam Kanter and Martin Spencer have joined Paradigm effective immediately, the agency announced Thursday.
The duo were previously at Resolution, the startup agency founded by Jeff Berg. Before that, Kanter and Spencer were at CAA, and their hires at Resolution were considered a big deal.
However, the pair came with a high price tag and, according to sources, when they were recently asked to take cuts in pay, decided it was time to move.
It is unclear which clients will move with them to Paradigm at this stage. Kanter repped lit talents such as director Simon West and writer Babaloo Mandel, while Spencer repped scribes J. Michael Straczynski, Lem Dobbs and Stuart Beattie.
Sam Gores, chairman and CEO of Paradigm, said in a statement: "Their familiarity and cohesive working relationships with many of our agents will allow them to be productive from day one, in both film and television."
"We are excited to join the outstanding agents at Paradigm, some of whom we share a rich and successful history with," said Kanter and Spencer in a joint statement. "We love the way the agency is growing, and we know this is the right fit for us and our clients now and going forward."
At Paradigm, Kanter and Spencer will reunite with talent co-head Ken Stovitz, motion picture lit head Rand Holston, Bob Bookman and Manny Nunez, all former CAA reps who have joined Gores' agency within the past two years.
