The ceremony, which honors the genre's top songwriters, will take place on May 14 in Beverly Hills.
Maroon 5 frontman Adam Levine will be presented with the President's Award at this year's Broadcast Music, Inc. Pop Awards, acknowledging his achievement in songwriting and his global impact on pop culture.
“Adam has mastered the art of writing unforgettable pop and rock hits. Captivating music lovers with his undeniable and memorable lyrics and catchy melodies, Adam's pop anthems and heartfelt ballads are defining an exciting brand of global stardom,” said BMI vice president and general manager, Barbara Cane.

Maroon 5 boasts over 17 million in record sales, and have gone gold and platinum in over 35 countries. Their latest album, Overexposed, has risen to the top of the charts, and the band's latest single, "Daylight," has reached No. 1 on the Top 40 chart.
In 2011, Levine also became the first artist in the Billboard Hot 100's 53-year history to reach No. 1 as part of a group, with Maroon 5's "Moves Like Jagger," while simultaneously entering the Top 10 as a soloist, as he was featured on and co-wrote Gym Class Heroes’ top single, “Stereo Hearts."
