Also getting release dates are 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend' and 'Beasts of No Nation.'

Netflix has set a Friday, Dec. 11, release date for Ridiculous Six, its Adam Sandler comedy that is among the high-profile movies the streaming service is making as a big push into feature filmmaking.

Also getting release dates are Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend, which will open theatrically in China, on Imax and on Netflix globally in the first quarter of 2016, as well as Pee-wee’s Big Holiday, which will premiere on the digital subscription service in March 2016.

First up, however, will be Beasts of No Nation, the Cary Fukunaga drama staring Idris Elba. That movie will premiere Friday, Oct. 16, worldwide on Netflix. At the same time, however, the movie will hit theaters domestically via distribution company Bleecker Street.

No Nation tells of a child soldier who is torn from his family to fight in the civil war of an African country and is trained by a ruthless warlord (Elba).

Ridiculous Six is the first of four Sandler movies being made by Netflix. The comedian stars in the Western comedy along with Terry Crews, Jorge Garcia, Taylor Lautner, Rob Schneider, Luke Wilson and Nick Nolte.

Big Holiday marks the return to the screen of Pee-wee Herman, the child-like character originated by Paul Reubens. Reubens worked with Judd Apatow to develop and produce the new movie.

The Crouching Tiger sequel is the project that first signaled Netflix’s plans to enter the moviemaking and distribution game. The move to release such a large and high-profile production simultaneous in theaters and on the streaming service caused a major backlash amongst exhibitors, who found it encroached too far into their distribution space.
