Adam Shankman’s Offspring Entertainment Hires Its First TV Exec
Adam Shankman and Jennifer Gibgot are growing the television unit of their Offspring Entertainment with its first TV exec hire, The Hollywood Reporter has learned. Former Valhalla Entertainment (The Walking Dead) director of development Meredith Ditlow is joining the production company.
Ditlow will oversee and expand the production slate for Offspring, developing scripted projects for both broadcast and cable. The banner has a deal with Warner Bros. Television Group and recently sold projects to HBO and E!. On the film side, Shankman and Gibgot are producing New Line dramedy Mean Moms for a possible fall start, to add to their feature collaborations on all five films in the Step Up franchise, Nicholas Sparks’ The Last Song and the Zac Efron vehicles Hairspray and 17 Again.
Before her stint at Gale Anne Hurd’s Valhalla, Ditlow served as director of development at Furst Films / Ole, where she oversaw development through the production company’s overall deal with CBS Television Studios, resulting in shows like The CW’s drama Star-Crossed.
Gibgot and Shankman are repped by UTA and Bloom Hergott.
