EXCLUSIVE: Four Actors Board Madeleine L'Engle Adaptation
Adelaide Clemens, Gregg Sulkin, Cary Elwes, Samantha Mathis are set to star in 'Camilla Dickenson,' which centers on a young woman whose parents' marriage begin to fall apart.
Adelaide Clemens and Wizards of Waverly Place actor Gregg Sulkin are starring in Camilla Dickenson, an adaptation of the 1951 book by award-winning young-adult author Madeleine L’Engle.
Cary Elwes and Samantha Mathis also star in the drama, being directed by casting director-turned-helmer Cornelia Moore.
Clemens is playing the title character, whose parents’ marriage begins to fall apart. As each vie for their daughter’s allegiance, the young woman turns to a boy with a rebellious streak (Sulkin) who also comes from a broken home.
Elwes and Mathis are playing Clemens’ parents.
Filming will commence mid-November in Spokane, Wash., with Cornelia Moore, who also penned the script, attached to direct.
Clemens, repped by UTA, RGM Artist Group and manager Ashley Josephson, stars in Wasted on the Young, the Australian teen movie that made waves at the Toronto Film Festival, which resulted in its actors and director receiving Hollywood attention. She just wrapped indie feature Generation Um opposite Keanu Reeves.
Sulkin -- who’s a rising Disney star, having just wrapped its TV movie Avalon High -- is repped by Gersh and D2 Management.
Elwes, repped by APA and Kritzer Levine Wilkins Griffin Entertainment, is currently on screens in Saw 3D. Mathis recently did a stint on ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy.
