Adele to Perform on Grammy Awards
After having vocal cord surgery, the "21" phenom is slated to take the stage for the Feb. 12 ceremony for her first live performance in five months.
Somewhere, millions of Adele fans are nearly passing out with excitement. (We exaggerate -- but given the singer's massive and global fan following, that response is not so difficult to imagine.)
Back to the big, official news at hand: the "Someone Like You" star will perform during the Grammy Awards' Feb. 12 telecast on CBS, marking her first time singing live in five months. Adele went on hiatus several months ago after being forced to cancel her U.S. tour so she could have vocal cord surgery.

"I'm immensely proud to have been asked to perform at this year's GRAMMY Awards," she said in a statement. "It's an absolute honor to be included in such a night, and for it to be my first performance in months is very exciting and of course nerve-racking, but what a way to get back into it all."
The singer, who's said she gets stage fright, is up for six trophies: record of the year, song of the year and best short form music video for "Rolling In The Deep"; album of the year and best pop vocal album for 21; and best pop solo performance for "Someone Like You."
Adele's smash sophomore album has been No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for 17 weeks -- longer than any other album since since The Bodyguard soundtrack completed a 20-week run atop the charts in May 1993.
She previously won a pair of Grammys in 2009 for her debut album, 19, winning best new artist and best female pop vocal performance.
