AFM: Sony Pictures Takes Multiple Territories on 'Street Cat Named Bob' Adaptation
Luke Treadaway and Ruta Gedmintas are set to star in the feature film about a London street cat who changes the life of a homeless man.
Sony Pictures Worldwide has snatched up multiple international territories for A Street Cat Named Bob, the adaptation of the best-selling book of the same name by James Bowen.
Sony picked up rights for the feature, which Roger Spottiswoode (Tomorrow Never Dies) is set to direct, for the U.K., Spain, Australia/New Zealand, Latin America, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe and CIS/Baltics among several other deals.
The feature tells the true story of Bob, a ginger street cat who changed James Bowen's life when he was homeless, living in London. Luke Treadaway (Unbroken) is set to star alongside Ruta Gedmintas (Prowl).
Brian O'Shea's The Exchange, which is handling international sales for the project, has virtually sold out Street Cat worldwide, with Telemunchen taking rights in Germany and Switzerland, Notorious Pictures buying Italy, Comstock Group taking Japan and Noori Pictures nabbing the film for South Korea.
