AFM 2012: Download THR's Day 1 'Daily'
In day one of THR's AFM Daily, Olivia Wilde and Hailee Steinfeld join the Civil War drama "The Keeping Room," Tim Allen lends his vocal talents to "The Penguin King," and Renee Zellweger discusses her directorial debut, "4 1/2 Minutes."
Wilde, Steinfeld Set for Civil War Drama
Olivia Wilde, Hailee Steinfeld and Nicole Behaire will star in The Keeping Room, directed by Daniel Barber and financed by Wind Dancer Films. Wind Dancer -- the company's credits include What Women Want -- will produce alongside Gilbert Films and Anonymous Content. WME Global arranged financing and will represent North American rights.
Tim Allen to Voice Penguin King
Tim Allen will voice the U.S. version of feature length documentary The Penguin King 3D, one of the American Film Market's hot docs. Produced by U.K. production and finance banner Atlantic Productions, the original British version was narrated and co-produced by legendary naturalist and broadcaster David Attenborough.
Q&A: Renee Zellweger
Oscar-winning actress Renee Zellweger is about to firm up her resume as a multihyphenate as the star gears up to direct, produce and star in 4 ½ Minutes, a comedy set in the stand-up comedy world of New York City. Zellweger will direct herself opposite Johnny Knoxville in the tale of Jimmy Bennett (Knoxville), a commitment-phobic, train-wreck comedian whose life is falling apart when he takes a job looking after the genius son of single mom P.J. Andersen (Zellweger). She talks to THR about picking the project for her directorial debut, asking the writer if she could be in the film and warning men not to take good looking dates to Davidoff's show.
