Agent, casting director Nancy McCook dies
Organized the Commercial Casting Directors SocietyNancy McCook, a veteran casting director and agent, died peacefully Dec. 6 in Los Angeles from lung cancer. She was 70.
McCook, who was instrumental in organizing the Commercial Casting Directors Society, formed Anderson/McCook Casting with Maxine Anderson. After Anderson died, she created Anderson, McCook, White Casting with new business partner Catherine White.
McCook worked as a agent for the Ann Wright Talent Agency before her casting career and at the Arlene Thornton Talent Agency after it.
A celebration of her life will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Church in North Hollywood at 7 p.m. on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Actors Fund in Los Angeles or the City of Hope.
McCook is survived by her sister and her beloved cat, Noreen.
