"He lied. He lied to you. He lied to Matt Lauer," Roker told Billy Bush on air during a broadcast of 'Today' in Rio.

Ryan Lochte is not fooling Al Roker.

Today anchor Roker expressed his views about Olympic swimmer Lochte misleading authorities in Rio, which ended up in a heated back and forth on air with co-anchor Billy Bush during the show's broadcast.

"He lied. He lied to you. He lied to Matt Lauer," Roker told Bush during the show. "He lied to his mom. He left his teammates hanging while he skedaddled."

Bush told Roker to "calm down" and repeatedly insisted that Lochte rather "embellished" facts. Roker, however, didn't back down from his stance, which also was supported by co-anchor Natalie Morales.

"There was no robbery. There was no pull over. There was nothing. Nobody cocked a gun to his head. He lied," said Roker.

Lochte has issued an apology for "not being more careful and candid" when recanting to Billy Bush (along with authorities) what happened to him and other U.S. swimmers in Rio last weekend. It recently was revealed that Lochte was not robbed at gunpoint but rather was involved in a confrontation with a security guard after vandalizing a local gas-station bathroom.

Cafe.com edited the video into viral entertainment, adding buzzer sounds after Bush's comments and bells in support of Roker's points. The video also zoomed in on that drink Roker resorted to stirring when trying to listen to Bush defend the swimmer by saying that they hadn't seen the video evidence. "We'll agree to disagree," concluded Roker.

Lochte will have the floor tonight, when portions of his interview with Lauer will air during NBC Nightly News and also Monday on Today. It will be Lochte's first interview since he was indicted for fabricating his story to authorities.
