The "Jeopardy!" host snapped his Achilles tendon as he was pursuing the female burglar, who took cash, a bracelet and other items out of his room.
Alex Trebek was injured Wednesday while chasing down a thief at his San Francisco hotel.
The Jeopardy! host, who was in Mountain View to host the National Geographic World Championship at Google, said his Achilles tendon snapped as he was chasing down a female burglar at 2:30 a.m., as reported by San Francisco’s ABC7.

He said she entered his room and stole cash and a bracelet from his mother, among other items, and then hid them near an ice machine on Trebek's floor.
After his Achilles tendon snapped, he fell and hurt his other leg in the process.
Lt. Troy Dangerfield of the San Francisco Police Department told ABC7 that a 56-year-old white female was arrested and booked on felony burglary and possession of stolen property.

Everything except the money and bracelet were recovered.
The injury will not affect Trebek's ability to continue hosting the championship, but he is expected to be in a cast for six weeks.
CBS TV Distribution, which distributes Jeopardy!, and Sony Pictures TV, who produces the game show, had no comment when contacted by The Hollywood Reporter.
