Alexander Wang's H&M Collection Is Nearly Sold Out
It's almost gone in stores and online, but hey, there's always eBay
The hotly anticipated Alexander Wang x H&M collection launched this morning, and the American designer's first collaboration for the fast-fashion retailer may have had a better turnout than Tuesday's midterm elections. We kid, of course, but there were definitely enough eager fashionistas vying for a piece of the sportswear inspired collection to crash H&M's website a full 10 minutes prior to the scheduled launch.
Though items have only been available online for purchase since shortly after 10 a.m. ET, there are currently only three items not sold out on H&M's website (at least, as of 3 p.m. ET), including two styles of $349 leather pants, and even fewer items are still for sale on Alexander Wang's site. But if you can’t find what you're looking for from the retailer, chances are you can find it on eBay.
A search for "Alexander Wang H&M" yields almost 2,000 results, many marked up to double or even triple the retail price. Some crafty sellers are even auctioning off the complementary plastic water bottles that were given to shoppers waiting in line at New York City stores. That's right, for $22 you can buy an unopened plastic water bottle with an "exclusive" Alexander Wang x H&M paper label.
Stores opened their doors at 8 a.m. ET, but not without a proper system put in place to keep zealous NY shoppers at bay. According to Fashionista, the first 420 shoppers in line were given a bracelet of one of 14 colors, dividing them into groups of 30. Each group was then given 15 precious minutes to get their hands on as much neoprene as they could. At the Beverly Center H&M, LA Racked reports that "the sports bras, leggings, neoprene logo sweaters and gym bags" were gone before 9 a.m. PT, whereas the shoes and pants weren't quite as popular. However, despite a strict two-item limit per style, several stores, including some across the pond and down under, were completely cleaned out within the first hour.
