Alexander Wang's Squad Initiation Involves Bagels

Just ask Kaia Gerber.

Alexander Wang took it back to the streets for his spring 2016 campaign.

The 32-year-old, who is one of the designers credited with popularizing street style in the high-fashion world, returned to his roots in his latest ads, taking his army of models, artists and musicians across Manhattan for a night of shenanigans. The Wang Squad — an entity so legit it earned its own Instagram handle — hit all the New York City hotspots: hardware stores, bodegas, trunks of abandoned cars — you name it.

Making her debut for Wang is 14-year-old Kaia Gerber, who was "initiated" into the squad via ritual bagel eating, as seen in her latest photo on Instagram of the campaign. Even though model Molly Bair has been modeling for Wang for several seasons, she, too, partook in the aggressive bagel consumption while perched on the countertop of a convenience store.

Photographed by Steven Klein, the ads also feature K-pop sensation and front-row fixture CL; models Lexi Boling and Binx Walton; and rapper Travis Scott, who also starred alongside Rihanna in her Puma campaign.

Wang's not the only designer with an army of cool kids. Chanel just inducted Willow Smith — who was given W mag's chill-teen stamp of approval — into its notorious gang of artsy ladies, and Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy flaunted his "Fashion Gang," which included "It" girl Kendall Jenner, on the cover of Vogue Japan last year.
