Alfred Masini, Creator of 'Star Search,' 'Entertainment Tonight,' Dies

Prolific 80-year-old TV producer passed away Monday in Hawaii.

Alfred "Al" Masini, the prolific TV producer who created Star Search, Entertainment Tonight, Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous and Solid Gold, among many other hit shows, died Monday in Honolulu , the Associated Press reports. He was 80.

Masini is survived by his wife Charlyn Honda Masini and his sister Melba Marvinny.
