Allentown moves to narratives
EmptyAllentown Prods., the production company of Oscar- and Emmy-winning documentary maker James Moll, is shifting its focus from documentary production to narrative film and television projects.
The company's expansion into the new areas will be spearheaded by Chris W. King, who has been tapped as director of development.
At Universal-based Allentown, King will develop narrative films for Moll to direct as well as film and television projects the company will produce with other directors.
"Chris brings an innovative sensibility and skill set to Allentown Pros. that is perfect for our company as we branch out with a much more diverse and commercial slate of projects," Moll said.
King most recently was based at GoTV Networks, where he developed mobile and Web-based programming, including the Procter & Gamble series "Crescent Heights."
Moll most recently produced and directed "Running the Sahara." The theatrical documentary feature, executive produced by Matt Damon, is slated for release this year.
