The Alliance for Women Film Composers has launched an online directory of women composers, hoping to expand moviegoers' composition knowledge beyond that of Williams and Zimmer.

“We at the Alliance are so proud to be able to share this incredible list of women composer's that will grow and grow," said AWFC President Laura Karpman, whose musical credits range from the Steven Spielberg mini-series Taken to the best-selling video game Halo 3.

Both seasoned professionals, including Dear White People composer Kathryn Bostic and Emmy award-winner Lisa Coleman, as well as new and upcoming talent will be featured in the directory, with work that spans film, television, video games and a variety of other media.

The directory, which includes bios and contact information, is meant to facilitate the discovery of female composers that may otherwise go overlooked and unrecognized.

The directory can be accessed through the AWFC official website, or can be reached directly here
