Amanda Crew Joins 'Charlie Zone'
Crew to play drug-addicted runaway in Canadian indie thriller.
TORONTO – Amanda Crew and Glen Gould have joined the Canadian urban thriller Charlie Zone from director Michael Melski, now shooting in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
Crew plays a drug-addicted runaway who is abducted by a disgraced former boxer hired by her desperate family. Pasha Ebrahimi, Mpho Koaho and Cindy Sampson round out the main cast.
Melski co-wrote the Charlie Zone script with Joe LeClair.
The picture is the director’s second after the comedy Growing Op, which starred Rosanna Arquette and Rachel Blanchard.
Producer credits go to Brent Barclay (How She Move) and Tracey Boulton (Flashpoint).
The film will be released domestically by Pacific Northwest Pictures. Myriad Pictures will sell all international rights.
