Amanda Hocking's 'Trylle Trilogy' to be Made Into Films by Media Rights Capital
"District 9" co-writer Terri Tatchell will adapt the fantasy books for the big screen.
Film financier Media Rights Capital has snatched up the rights to writer Amanda Hocking's wildly popular Trylle Trilogy book series, the New York Times reports.
The media company plans to produce two movies based on the three fantasy novels, which follow a high school girl who discovers a world inhabited by beautiful trolls.
Terri Tatchell, a co-writer on the 2009 sci-fi hit District 9, has signed on to pen the scripts.
"Amanda has created such a fresh, unique, fabulous world, and I am absolutely dead set on bringing it to the screen without compromising any of that," Tatchell told the Times.
Hocking rose to literary fame after her nine self-published fiction books sold over one million copies. Last week, she signed a $2 million deal for her four-book "Watersong" series with publisher St. Martin's Press.
